Dabbling in Houdini

First assignment in Houdini we had to get a better understanding of the program and how it worked. A small step in getting familiar with Houdini was by mastering the copy node, hscript expressions, and user defined parameters.  Going over the program I was surprised at how efficient and user friendly the program seemed to be and instantly became a big fan to the software.

We were to demonstrate the phyllotaticic pattern (its the study of arrangement; leaves/seeds on stem or axis -ext)  upon a flower of our choice.

All attributes were adjustable such as number of florets in the center, their radius, angle, size, shape and even color.  The same goes for flower petals in being adjustable with the number of petals, size, width, spacing and color. You can create different types of flower designs with this process from a sunflower to a daisy.  One polygon sphere is the dominate object in this scene, the circles are copied with the copy node and attached to a user interface with the ch("../___") expression.  Along with the petals that are duplicated and also put within a user interface with that method, it was interesting to do using Houdini and I'm pleased with how simple it is to create a working interface.
